The Maharishi Vedic Prevention Center will offer scientifically validated programs that enliven the inner intelligence of the human body, reduce stress, develop individual potential and promote perfect health. More than 600 published, peer-reviewed, scientific studies done at over 200 universities and research institutes in 30 countries over the last 35 years confirm the benefits of the programs to all areas of life. Points of interest regarding cardiovascular health include...

  • Health insurance company data show, over a five year period, 87% fewer hospital admissions for heart disease (55% fewer for tumors including cancer) in those who utilize these programs.
  • Reduced cardiovascular risk factors including reduced cholesterol, reduced hypertension, reduced stress and anxiety, and reduced cigarette, alcohol and other substance abuse.
  • Other studies indicate reversal of the negative effects of aging and reduced biological age in program participants.
  • Over the past 15 years the National Institutes of Health have granted $20 million to study the effects of the Transcendental Meditation® program on hypertension and heart disease.
  • Recently several studies from this funding have appeared in the Journals of the American Heart Association, including Hypertension and Stroke. Studies show that the TM technique reduces hypertension as well as medication (but with many side-benefits instead of harmful, negative side-effects), and also reverses arteriosclerosis.
  • Funding from the NIH has also established a Center for Alternative and Complimentary Medicine at our affiliated College of Vedic Medicine at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa.
